Urban Acres hosts a Family Fall Cookout for Slow Food USA

As part of the Slow Food USA $5 Challenge, Urban Acres Market in Oak Cliff is hosting a family fall cookout on Saturday, September 17th from 11:30am-2:00pm. What is “Slow Food”?   It’s a worldwide movement – a way of living and eating that values delicious, clean, nutritious food that is good for the planet and our bodies. Slow Food USA believes that “the pleasures of good food can also help build community and celebrate culture and regional diversity.” The Slow Food $5 Challenge invites you to “take back the ‘value meal’” by getting together with those in your family and community for a slow food meal that costs no more than $5 per person. Here are the details on Urban Acres’ $5 Slow Food Meal: When: Saturday, September 17th from 11:30am-2:00pm Where: Urban Acres Farm Store – 1301B West Davis St, Dallas, TX 75208 (Map) Cost: $5 donation per person Menu Nitschke Natural Beef Burger or Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burger Bosque Blue Cheese Cole Slaw (featuring Veldhuizen Cheese from Dublin, TX) Urban Acres Sweet ‘n Spicy Pickles For a separate donation, you can also get a root beer float featuring Maine Root Beer and Dallas-made Pearl Brand Artisanal Ice Cream!
